Getting Ready for the Christmas Countdown

When I was a little girl, my mom always tried to make the Christmas season special. One of the ways that she did that was to give each of us a Candy Advent Calendar to mark the days until Christmas. Oh, what a sweet Christmas memory! A few years ago, I made a Candy Advent Calendar for Ella. Unfortunately, I have yet to make one for Lucie so we probably won't be counting down that way this year. Instead, we'll be using Fishmama's Christmas Countdown. This is a FREE download that is part of "A Simpler Season" series.

Yesterday I got to work putting together our Christmas Countdown and selected 24 Christmas-related fun things for our family to do on each day leading up to Christmas. Some are holiday events like going to the local Christmas Tree lighting and getting our tree. Others will be activities like movie nights and making ornaments. The download makes it very easy with over 30 cards of ideas, plus some blank ones to create your own. Just print, cut and stuff in envelopes for each day of the month.

What do you do to make the holiday season special for your kids?
