My Christmas Mantel...A Work in Progress

Well, I had great hopes of creating a beautiful Christmas mantel, but honestly, it just isn't quite there yet. I've never actually done this, so I think I might just keep playing around with it this week until I get the look that I like. But, here's where it is right now.

There are a few elements that I really like:

3D "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" Wall Art: Inspired by a piece that I found at Walmart, I created this little baby for my tutorial at Christmas Your Way and was really pleased with the results. It just loved creating something custom in the colors that I wanted. Stop by Christmas Your Way to see the step-by-step.

Nativity Silhouettes
I took the same idea from the 3D Wall Art and applied it to these silhouettes. I found the template for the Manger Scene here and the Wise Men template here. I think that I may change the colors around a bit. I think I'd prefer a red background, but I was all out of the right supplies. So, if I have the time and energy, I might swap out the purple background for red.

Rolled Paper Flowers: Originally, I meant to make some DIY Hurricane Vases that Myra designed with the glass candlestick holders and pillar holders from The Dollar Store. Well, then I decided that my homemade rolled paper flowers and vase (from a tin can!) could use a little height. So, I ended up temporarily affixing the can vase to the glass candlestick holder. I love the contrast of the fancy glass with the rustic vase and flowers.

So, I'm not sure how long my mantel will stay like this until Christmas. Any suggestions?

I like the bright colors you have used. The stockings are so cute! You have been creative and economical too. Good for you!

Thanks for the encouragement Grey. Those stockings are special to my family. When I was a kid, my Granny had these knit stockings made for all of the grandkids. When she passed away, my mom took up knitting and has been making them for my kids, my nieces/nephews, and even my cousins' kids. We just love them.
