Nicknames

Since Lucie was born, I've been trying to figure out a nickname for her. We thought of a couple right away -- Lucie Lou and Lulu -- obviously based on her name. But, I've still found myself calling her things that I called Ella, and that is just not right. The girl needs her own nicknames!

Ella has one particular nickname that I created. I think she was about nine or ten months old when she was able to pull herself up to a standing position. Then, she learned to "dance" in this position when she heard music...really just bouncing up and down. Being a first-time mom, I thought it was wonderful that she liked music and could dance! So, I started calling her "Bootie Shaker"...and then it became "Bootie"...and then it became "Boots". And it is "Boots" that stuck even to this day. Later when I watched "Dora the Explorer" I learned that Dora's sidekick is Boots the Monkey. Well, that just confirmed that it was a good nickname for Ella -- she is quite exuberant like a monkey!

So, now I find myself trying to find something for Lucie. One thing I've noticed about her is that she blows bubbles all the time. I don't remember Ella doing this, but Lucie even does it in her sleep! The other day, I thought that "Bubbles" might be an appropriate nickname. Of course, at two syllables that might just be too long. I'm thinking of shortening it to "Bubbs". Boots and Bubbs...I kinda like the ring of it. What do you think? I'm open to suggestions -- post in the comments section.
