Lucie's Haircut

As you might have noticed in yesterday's Back-to-School post, Lucie's hair has gotten out of control. She's 20-months old, and I don't think we've ever cut her hair except to preserve a bit of the brown baby hair she had. The back had some curl but was uneven...strangely longer behind her ears. And her bangs, well, they start at the back of her head and just keep going. They were incredibly long and swooped to one side in this freaky kind of wave. Here's just a sample of what her hair could do. Sometimes it looked cute...sometimes, not so much.

So, last week Brett and I just decided that it was time to do something about it. So, together we tried to give her the best haircut that we could with a wiggly toddler. He did most of the cutting and I did tried the impossible -- to keep her still. Thankfully, she was pretty calm about the whole thing and didn't resist too much.

The result? Well, it's not quite so freaky...she just reminded me a lot more of my nephew Cal. Now that it has had a week to grow a bit more, I think she looks a little bit more like a girl again...or maybe I'm just getting used to it.

cute post. In one pic she looks like Herferfer!!! Profile wise. Weird genetics. Then Cal in the other one. But Lucie looks like Lucie! She is a beauty!

kinda like a pixie doo. I liked her wild and crazy doo. That style is in all the style mags. This new style is cute too.
