As you might have heard on the news, a fire broke out last week that destroyed over 200 homes in Montecito and Santa Barbara. Because of its origin at an abandoned Tea House in the Montecito hills, it was dubbed the "Tea Fire."
Because of the fire's local impact, our local news has been covering the fire investigation every day. Well, on Thursday morning, our little Ella took some interest in the story. Brett was awake getting ready for work, and I was still in bed. As Brett tells it, he came out into the living room to see Ella sitting on the couch watching the news by herself. She looked up at him and said, "Daddy, do you know what started the fire? Somebody was making tea and it got too hot on the stove." A three-year old's take on the news.
